I’ve made it to the 5 month mark and things are going well.
I think I’ve trimmed most (if not all) the damaged ends now and can start letting my hair gain length again. Almost all my relaxed ends are gone and I’m just left with the texturized hair that got semi-straight in some areas and wavy/curly in other parts.
I’ve heard some people say breakage gets worse as you transition, but mine has actually gotten better. Maybe it’s because I’ve been doing a lot of mini trims and getting rid of damaged ends on a regular basis.
Also, I was texturizing for 7 months prior to transitioning so the demarcation line between my texturized and natural hair is not as distinct. Perhaps that helped, but I don’t really know. Of course, I’m only 5 months in, so things may change later.
Anywho, here’s a quick vid so you can see my progress and pics of my new growth.

Lisa, your hair looks great and so very healthy. I think I’ll invest in the shampoo and conditioner (Giovanni, right?) and begin to let my very short natural grow. Just want to see what will happen as it begins to lengthen. Because the way I wear my hair is too easy to maintain (barber every 3 weeks) the growing phase probably won’t last too long. We’ll see what happens and I’ll keep you posted.

Thank you! Yes, Giovanni is one of my favorites. I’ve tried all their shampoos and my favorite is the Tea Tree Triple Treat. Can’t wait to hear about your progress!
