Still enjoying my flat twist up do, but enjoying my iPad2 even more!
Here’s a quick update on some modifications I made to my hairstyle. At the end of the video, you’ll hear a natural hair theme song I created, arranged and recorded on the iPad2. Enjoy!

Lisa, I know you dont know me, but I am you very big fan ( can’t really know whether I am the biggest 🙂 ) . I first found you at 2 Create a Website, when I was on a hunt to make money online. Boy did you help me! You introduced me to Site Build It! I now have my own website that I am working on. 🙂 ..Kinda difficult but worth it! I am getting better each day.
I was contemplating on going natural and had begun the process, but I was becoming less and less motivated each day, then I found this site ( and glimpse through it ) My motivation hit the roof. You have helped me so much that I feel like you are actually family. I love how you enjoy your natural hair. I am now about 1 year into the natural transition, and I am ashamed to say that I have not done any of the good stuff that is found on this site. But the change begins today …!
I am going out to buy the stuff that I see you using, and I am going to begin to embrace the natural hair that I have.
I have 1 question thou …
How do i get my hair ( seeing that it’s still a little short ) , to pull back tightly? Is it all about pins? Or is there hairbands ( don’t know the correct names) , that I can use?
Your advice is appreciated.

Thanks so much for your support Joan! What you can do is wet your hair and apply a bit of gel, then use a large headband to smooth back the hair (you may even want to put a goody band under the larger band because it is tighter and will hold the hair better). I think that looks neater than hairpins.
All the best!

thank you very much Lisa, I will do just that! By the way, I am in the Caribbean Islands. Went looking for your hair products in stores. Could not find any. I bought the nearest I could find, and have decided to purchase them online. Thanks again. Will keep you posted!

I lovessss the theme song… Good job! You are teaching me sooo much about how to transition and care for my hair without a big chop. I’ve decided to transition on December 27, 2011… So wish me luck!

Hi Lisa….your hair looks great . You are the poster sister for transitioning from relaxed to natural hair . I did the final chop on my hair on May 5 , 2011 ..one year to date post relaxer . I am loving the journey. I never knew I had these curls until i beagn the journey…Im sure lots of sisters arent aware as well. After ..ahem almost 30 years of relaxing ..Im sure my curls are doing a victory dance under my satin bonnet. ” How could you have deprived us so long “????. I am now in the process of trying to keep my short style moisturized and conditioned..still have not found the go to product yet. Many leave my hair dry and sticky or real crunchy. I like twists and braid outs the best . My wash and go seems to dry out pretty fast . I will be standing up in a wedding in June and still not certain ..curly or straight.??? I wanted to complete the final cut at this time so I have a month to play with my hair doing both straight and curly styles… I am also dealing with gray hair all over . I ahve experiemented with color and henn and I do like them..but you must keep your hair conditioned and moisturized when doing this because of the drying effects of both. I will have my stylist trim the remaining ends and apply the touch up color for my hair . I have never looked back . I measured my hair after my final cut … 4 3/4 to 5 1/2 inches of new growth all over …in one year …Goal another 6 inches by May of 2012… the hair journey continues… Thanks for the blog and web site and sharing your journey..cant wait for summer styling.. peace and blessings … tc

Lisa I love this hair-do. You are quite glamorous and your hair looks so healthy. I’m betting that your song will be a hit someday in a ‘Hair Transitioning’ commercial or movie or something. Keep up the good work. Write some more songs on your IPad/ipad or whatever it’s called.

Girl, you are one multitalented black woman! What’s next? I can hardly wait.
PS song not cheesy. Fits you and your business to a T (or should I say an L).
