You are about to discover how to infuse your hair with moisture AND make your wash and go’s look better without taking two hours to shingle product through your hair!
I don’t know about you, but I have never been a big fan of WnG’s on my hair. I always had to use half the jar of gel and my hair ended up feeling crunchy with white residue galore.
Ew!
So I gave up on the style. Too much time and effort for cakey, shrunken hair.
Even if you are not a fan of WnGs, stick around. The max hydration method described below can be done with a twist out instead of a wash and go.
Hellooooo Maximum Hydration Method! Where Have You Been All My Life????
I first read about The Maximum Hydration Method on Pinke Cube’s site and discovered that the reason my hair didn’t like WnG’s was because it was too dry.
You may think you are moisturizing your hair enough, but if you’re using lots of sulfates, “cones” (products that have ingredients ending in -cone) or not applying water-based moisturizers enough, your hair could be thirsty.
There’s a whole lot of science behind why the method works (and you really should ONLY use the recommended products), but the bottom line is…
When your hair doesn’t have enough moisture, it shrinks up more and needs more product to stay moisturized.
So when your hair is fully hydrated, the opposite happens.
You’ll also have stronger hair, fewer tangles and your natural pattern will come out.
See the steps below…
5 Steps to Max Hydration
Don’t get too discouraged by this, but you’re really supposed to do this for 7 days in a row the very first time you do it. The idea is to get your hair to its maximum hydration level.
After it reaches that, you can do it every few days.
I only did it for 3 days total and I didn’t do it daily. I did the 5 steps every OTHER day.
And even though I didn’t do it 7 days straight as suggested, I still got great results! One day I may try 7 days consecutively.
For Best Results…
If you really want elongated, defined curls not only should you do this daily for the first 7 days, BUT you need to section your hair and saturate your strands from root to tip to make sure every strand is coated.
I admittedly didn’t saturate every strand so that’s probably why my hair is poofier than it could be. But I’m OK with that. I actually like a fuller, fro look.
******** IMPORTANT *********
For the first day, it’s recommended you do the Cherry Lola Treatment (CLT) instead of step 1 below. It’s a protein treatment that also helps moisturize your hair. You mix…
- 16 oz. of full-fat, plain yogurt
- 2 tbsp of baking soda
- 2 tbsp liquid aminos (found in soy sauce aisle of health food store)
PLEEEEEEEEEEEASE NOTE! Baking soda is known to have a relaxing effect on the hair and could loosen your curl pattern temporarily. So please be careful or use a very small amount if you are concerned about this. You have been warned.
Apply mixture to your hair and let it sit for 30 minutes under a plastic cap and rinse. Then proceed to step 2 below. The remaining days do steps 1-5. The CLT should not be done more than every two weeks.
I would highly recommend sectioning your hair into at least 4 sections and keeping it that way. Your hair will be so much easier to work with. And as your hair becomes more hydrated, the process gets faster because there are fewer tangles and your hair is softer.
Step 1) Clarify your hair with a mixture of 1-3 tablespoons of baking soda, water and 1 to 3.5 oz. of silicon-free, natural conditioner.
The first time I did the method I used TRESsemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner with Aloe and Avocado, but now I use Knot Today.
If your hair is fairly clean or sensitive to baking soda, limit the amount you use.
You can also use a 1:1 ratio of apple cider vinegar (the Braggs brand is great) and water. I didn’t try this option. I always use conditioner and baking soda.
Section your hair in at least 4 sections and add the mixture to your hair from root to tip. Leave on for 15 minutes and rinse out with warm water.
This step helps clean your hair (baking soda or apple cider vinegar) without stripping it of moisture (conditioner adds moisture).
Here’s my hair after applying the baking soda/water/conditioner solution.
Step 2) Warm the silicon-free, moisturizing conditioner like Knot Today in the microwave for 10 seconds. (Do not put the bottle in the microwave. Put it in a microwave-safe container and heat it that way.)
Apply to wet hair in sections and let sit under a plastic cap for 15-20 minutes.
You can also apply room-temp conditioner, wear a plastic cap, wrap up your hair in a silk scarf and sleep with conditioner overnight.
It’s actually best to let it sit overnight and I do notice better results when I do this, but if you are in a hurry, the heated option works too.
Rinse out. Detangle in the shower while rinsing (preferably with your fingers).
Step 3) Mix one cup of Bentonite Clay powder (buy at health store or online) and 2-3 cups of warm water or aloe vera juice. (Feel free to add a tablespoon of honey and olive oil for extra moisture.) The consistency should be slightly thinner than yogurt. Add more clay or water/aloe vera juice as needed.
Make sure the water is warm or your clay won’t dissolve.
Apply to wet hair in sections and very carefully with a towel handy (because it’s very messy). Be sure to lift up sections of your hair and distribute clay from root to tip.
The clay is detoxifying your hair and prepping it to absorb and retain moisture.
Rinse clay with warm water. Be sure it’s completely rinsed out or your hair will get dry.
Step 4) While your hair is soaking wet (and I do mean soaking wet), apply a silicon-free conditioner one section at a time. I prefer Knot Today.
If you are doing a wash and go, rinse your hair for a quick second (literally) under the shower after applying.
Step 5) Immediately apply a botanical gel on soaking wet hair. I use Kinky Curly Curly Custard (buy at Target or online). Do NOT use gel with protein like Eco Styler. It should be a botanical gel. Goddess Curls (by Curls) is another and you can also use flaxseed gel. (See my homemade recipe for the flaxseed gel here.)
The wetter your hair is when applying, the better the product will dissolve and not leave that residue.
I would NOT recommend waiting until you are out of the shower. Apply the gel IMMEDIATELY.
You can shingle it through small sections if you want for extreme definition, but I just apply generously by raking through each section one or two time. This is best for a fuller look.
It takes me 5 minutes total to apply the 2 products. Yes, those days of shingling are over.
Let hair air dry. To speed up the drying process wring excess water with a T-shirt by gently squeezing the hair (towel makes hair frizzy). Shake head in shower or over tub to get even more excess water out.
If you see residue, you either did one or more of the following…
- You used too much gel (as your hair gets hydrated you need less).
- You didn’t ensure your hair was soaking wet when you applied the gel
- You didn’t smooth gel through your hair
If you don’t like gel, you can apply a natural oil if you wish. You just won’t have the definition. You can also twist your hair and do a twist out if you wish.
You may not notice a big difference in your hair after the first treatment. But you will definitely see a difference by the 3rd day.
Here’s my wet hair after step five…
What Happens When You Stop The Method?
To get the best results, you should do the method consistently until your hair reaches max hydration. You will know because your hair will have definition from root to tip when your hair is product free.
After that, you should do all steps every 3-4 days to keep your hair hydrated.
I never did the method until I reached max hydration. I was happy with the results after 3 days. Plus, baking soda can alter your texture (loosen curls) and I didn’t want that to happen.
Afterwards I started doing the method every 4 days for about a week and a half. Then I would do some of the steps every 3-4 days.
For example, I would only do steps 1, 4 and 5 (skipping the deep conditioning overnight and the clay). My hair still looked great but not quite as stretched.
The pic on the right is my hair after only doing steps 1, 4 and 5. Notice my curls are still very clumped and defined, but my hair is more shrunken than the above pics (less hydration).
Also remember, I never take time to shingle the gel through every strand. (Ain’t nobody got time for that!) 🙂 I literally just smooth it through one section at a time.
So my curls are not even as defined as they could be. But I like a fuller look.
So you don’t have to do the full method everyday to get good results. But even if I don’t do all 5 steps, I still do steps 1, 4 and 5 to maintain some degree of hydration.
Since I started the method, I have not gone more than 4 days without washing my hair. This is ideal since your hair can get tangled with wash and go’s.
Got Questions?
I’ve started a maximum hydration thread in the forums.
For complete details on the method and product alternatives for the various steps, see the site that taught and inspired me.
MARTIKA GAMBLE says
What if you are allergic to baking soda? Is there am alternative that can be used?
Shana Julian says
Forgive me if this has been asked already (I didn’t read all of the posted messages,) but the clay, yogurt, amino acids and aloe Vera wreak havoc on my protein sensitive hair.
If any of you are also protein sensitive and have tried this, please let me know how it worked. The last time I put yogurt or aloe in my hair it felt horribly brittle and dry.
Living in a cold northern climate makes it quite hard to moisturize my hair. It could be worse, though! Can’t complain 🙂

Deonna says
Can you use this method on natural bleached hair?
Lizzy sumsion says
Is there something else i can use to replace liquid anminos?
Lisa says
I’ve watched a lot of videos where people mixed ACV into their clay mix rather than water or aloe juice. Which is better to use on dry type 4 hair?
lisa says
I don’t know which is better but I’ve used both. Haven’t noticed a big difference either way. Aloe juice is good for extra moisture. ACV is good for shine and clarifying.
Kelci says
So does this count as washing the hair??
lisa says
Yes.
Takashi says
Just so I’m reading this correctly. First time doing this MHM do the Lola method on day 1 skipping step 1 proceed with step 2-5. Days 2-6 do steps 1-5. After first week is complete do this process every 4th day?
4cnatural says
Hey!! I would like to know if this treatment will work on my short 4c hair ( it’s like 5inches) and it’s extremely kinky. So I’m afraid that it would just shrink and make no sense.
lisa says
The reason this method became so popular was largely do to 4c hair types. This hair type is often more tangled and dry so this will elongate your curls a bit and help them stay more moisturized.
Soraya says
Thank you for the information. I would like to try this method but I can’t find liquid aminos in the stores where I live. Is there an alternative for the liquid aminos that I can use?
Dav says
ok so I noticed at the end you said you washed your hair after every 4 days, however, isn’t that unhealthy for 4c hair? like to wash it every 4 days, doesn’t that take the moisture out of it even more?
Georgette says
Hi Dav.
It doesn’t. It is actually easier to deal with the more frequently you wash it. It feels softer and more hydrated too. I have 4c hair.
Phoenix says
I agree, I have 4a-c hair and my hair (including the 4c) is significantly more hydrated if I do a 3-4 day thing rather than waiting until the end of the week.
cynthia says
so I just discovered that baking soda cannot be neutralize trough water if there is less than 20 BP pH is 9 and hair product ph are between 4-5 so is there an alternative to baking soda because it can induce same chemical burn as perm :/
lisa says
Yep that’s why I put that warning here. My solution has been to use a very small amount or Apple Cider Vinegar since that can help cleanse the hair like baking soda.
Medge says
Good Afternoon Lisa,
My question to you is , all five steps have to be completed on after the other in one day? And what is CLT?
lisa says
Yes that is correct. That stands for Cherry Lola Treatment. The method I talked about that you do above instead of Step 1.
lola says
What if you can’t access some of those products i.e. kinky curly products and the clay, are there any other alternatives? Can I use a different curling conditioner?
Megan says
Hi, Your site is so helpful, I tried the regimen for first time and like you think I see a change in curl definition already 🙂 One question, when you are following the regimen at what point to do you shampoo your hair? Or are any of these steps mentioned replacing a typical shampoo?? thank you!
lisa says
The clay actually helps cleanse the hair very well while conditioning it at the same time. Plus baking soda has cleansing properties so that’s why you don’t really need to add the shampoo step.
Cecilia says
HI. How many times do you wash your hai?
Jovanté Thomas says
Hi Lisa,
Thank you for sharing this amazing method. I just started it and I’m only on day 2 and I’m already seeing a difference. I wanted to know because I was a bit confused when reading your instructions but when I reach 7 days, how often do I need to apply the five steps ? Is it every 3 to 4 days after the 7 day mark ?
Keeping It Real says
Hi,
How would one do this for 7 days with twist outs vs the wash n’ go?
lisa says
So after you apply the Kinky Curly gel just twist instead. The reason many prefer the wash and go is it’s faster. I can’t imagine twisting every day for 7 days.
Ma'rea says
Due to health issues, my hair was completely neglected for over a month. Now it is dry and brittle and the weather will be between 18 and 35 degrees in VA. I really want to do the MHM, but instead of a wash and go, or twisting my hair daily what can you recommend for a style? Or is there something else i can do to give my hair some love. It’s 4c, low porosity, and i’ve done a protein treatment 2 days in a row. Still dry, brittle, and shedding more than usual.
lisa says
Hi Ma’rea, don’t do anymore protein treatments for 6 weeks. More than one within that short of time is not good for the hair.
Have you deep conditioned it with a hair dryer? I would find the thickest, moisturizing conditioner you can find at any beauty store and do a deep conditioner. Look up the LOC method on YouTube and it shows you how to lock moisture into your hair. It’s great for this time of year.
Genesis says
Hey the Chobani yogurt you use where did you buy it from? I have been everywhere and all I find is the chobani plain non fat. It looks exactly like the one you have in the picture but it says non fat. I’m assuming that it’s not the same is that right?
lisa says
I got it from Kroger.
Dee says
Question I’ve done the method for about four days I loved it the first day however the curls I have after the first day I don’t like..I’m wondering if my curls will get tighter again..
I love the way my hair feels I would just like my curls a little tighter…should I stop for a while??
lisa says
Remember, the baking soda does loosen the curls a bit as mentioned in the article so that’s why I put that warning there. You might want to lighten up on the baking soda if your curls seem to be getting looser.
Jon says
How often should I use the regimen
Chikky says
When i finish all the steps, how do maintain the hair when I’m going to work. And when next do I do it again? After 3days or I do immediately when I’m back from work.?
OnlyGoodThoughts says
What is the night regimen? Do you sleep on a satin pillow? Do you put your hair up in scrunchies? Do you create large twists and untwist it in the AM?
What shampo do you use, when you break from performing the MHM?
Also, what products do you use, when not performing the MHM, to maintain your hair? Will your hair maintain the same curl pattern or do you have to twist it?
Day 1 and my hair is POPPIN’! And, I consider myself to have 4z hair (lol). Prior to performing the MHM, my hair was a dried up cotton ball, with NO curl pattern, which shrunk into a small Afro and looked like I was starting a “Back To Africa Movement” single handily.
Now, my hair is hanging, untangled, moisturized, soft, and manageable. I cannot wait to see what happens on Day 7.
This method is truly a Godsend.
lisa says
My nighttime regimen was to simply put it in a silk bonnet. Then I spritzed with water and finger separated the hair.
I don’t remember what shampoo I used but something moisturizing as always. Nothing different from my normal.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Cynthia says
I did this last year,it gave me curls, before doing this I had to twist my hair every night. The top of my hair is very straight after washing it. I am doing it again tonight. This is my first time in a long time. My hair was not washed b4 I started. I dye my hair, no problems. I did not use water, instead I used ACV in place of the water. I know for a fact that AVC curls my hair….Good luck ladies…Thank you so much for this information.
Pamela says
Hi! I am still new to the natural hair community, so I hon’t know all the lingo. What is ACV?
lisa says
ACV = Apple cider vinegar
Ayanna says
Hi I just want to know when u say u do this every three to four days you mean everything the entire thing from the yogurt and aminos and everything else or just the clarifying of hair and the moisturizing part ?
Erica says
Will this method work on relaxed hair?
lisa says
I’m sure the moisture part is great for your hair, you just won’t get the curly wash and go look at the end.
Zenas says
So I do the clay step everyday ?
lisa says
You do all steps daily.
Sharifa says
Can i wash my hair with shea and moisture product after step 3? Also on the following day, should i wash my hair 1st then start with step 1? Ive done step1-2(overnight) on but my daugther and myself. Im wondering should we wash it clean from the clay so it doesn’t get dry! oh i plan not to use gel until day 7. im going to do step 1-4 and step 5 ill just use oil and cantu leave in. im doing this with all Cantu and not the knot today(it waa too expensive for my budget especially doing 2 ppl for 7 days). I plan to cut the mixture in step 3 by half by asding more water(to stretch the product). Do you think any of this is a bad idea?
Suzie says
@Lisa can you please answer those questions?
lisa says
I have never deviated from the steps I listed here on the Max Hydration Method, so I cannot speak on alternatives. I would just say to try it and see how it works for you. On the following day, you repeat just as you did the first day. You do not need to wash your hair before repeating on following days. You do them the exact same way each day. But I cannot speak on alternatives because I have only done what I explained here.
Eddy E says
I have never bought any of the expensive recommended products but I have been doing the MHM regime for two years. It works perfectly without store bought products.
First I use a natural shampoo bar (http://www.funkysoapshop.com/1-piece-henna-solid-shampoo-bar-for-red-auburn-chestnut-shampoo-bar-natural-handmade-approx-120g-c2x16332238), next I use the acv solution or baking soda with my home made conditioner, then I use my own homemade avocado & coconut conditioner (https://www.facebook.com/notes/nappturalistic-beauty/avocado-coconut-twist-deep-conditioner/256917834334906/), after I use rhassoul clay from Amazon then finally a homemade flaxseed plus shea butter curling custards (lots of recipes out there but I just use shea butter and gel in my recipe with an essential oil). I personal repeat the regime every 2/3 days. During the gel phase I dilute the gel with warm water and apply it liberally all over my hair so that it reaches every strand from root to tip and does not leave residue. The gel solution should still be thick enough that you still feel the slippage in your hair. If your gel has too much shea butter it will leave your with residue. I hope this helps anyone else out there. The products are expensive but there are alternatives.
lisa says
Thanks for sharing this!

Is this method safe for color treated hair? I have multiple colors in my hair and I am concerned with how the products might affect the color. Please advise
Margret says
I used to do this method and am going back to it, starting tonight. I use henna to color my grey hair, and it worked very well. My hair curled without a problem.
Cynthia says
Margret
What color does the henna color you grey?…When I do a henna my grey comes out orange.
Carla says
This looks great I’m tempted to try. I discovered that my hair has an incredible curl pattern but it’s so dry and tangled I just can’t see it.
I have a question though. My hair takes 6+ hours to dry normally… by washing it for 7 days will the drying time decrease?
Also, the job I do means I just can’t maintain that kind of process continually… would it just as successful to do as 7 day cycle every 6 weeks or so, maintaining another wash pattern I’m between?
Nicole says
I am wondering if I can use this on my hair, as a white girl. I moved to Florida and have a thyroid disorder and had two babies in three years so my hair has just gotten weird and frizzy and has a hay like texture. If I do try this method do you maybe have some suggestions on changes or just do it as you wrote it? Thanks.
Egloz says
I’d say go for it girl, you got nothing to lose. My hair is like hay all day for free. Am so glad i stumbled across this page because by some MIRACLE all this stuff except Aminos are sitting blinking at one another on my shelves, come this evening I’m gonna follow all this stuff and see where I end up. Give it a shot, nothting to lose and some super silky tresses to gain if it does work as stated!

Hi Lisa.
I finally broke down & tried this – just started it yesterday. I’m hoping I make it 7 days, but after 1 the results are good with no product at all – I stopped at step 4.
Anyway, I am documenting my progress with the method & just wanted you to know that I linked to your page for details.
lisa says
Thank you so much and good luck! You can do it!

Oh my gosh I’ve been searching high and low for information like this I’ve natural about 2yrs I have never seen my hair with any curls my hair is kind of straight most people ask if my hair is relaxed is this going to help me gain some curls??
Linda Iferika says
Hi!
First off, thanks SO much for taking your time to get this information to us. It’s amazing??
I recently dyed my natural really short hair (a little shorter than a TWA) platinum blonde. Now, prior to getting it bleached, I was already battle with extremely dry hair/scalp issues (I have 4b-4c hair). A few days ago, I started to notice that my hair has been thinning is 4 spots (something that I’ve NEVER experienced before). I’ve been “washing” my hair with a silk and protein conditioner morning and night, and using a leaving conditioner as my moisturizer & NOTHING ELSE. At the instruction of my colorist, I hadn’t been using any oils or creams in my hair because of concern that the color of the oil would alter the hair color itself. However, I started using oil (avocado/olive oil mixture with a few drops of argon oil),3days ago because it was (& still is) dry even after “washing it 2x/day w/ conditioner).
Prior to bleaching my hair, I had no idea what it took (& takes) to keep hair healthy and to keep it from breaking, after bleaching it, smh! Don’t get me wrong, I love it, but it a lot, lol!
Will this max hydration method work to restore the moisture to my now extra-extra dry hair and stop the damaged spots or so I need to try a different treatment since it is colored?
Thanks again and looking forward to your response!
Taquia Smith says
What other products would you recommend for the MHM besides the kinky curly brand.
I’ve been transitioning for over a year now. I’m about 99% natural. I’ve never been good at styling hair. I’ve been wearing a hat or wig when my hair wasn’t braided. However, I’m ready to start wearing my hair down n out but it is extremely dry. Tried wearing a puff. It looked good the 1st day after a fresh wash. Tried again for 2 more days. I did not get the same results. Super dry. Also I work in a restaurant and it is extremely hot. By days end my hair was horrible looking.
I was googling for tips as to what to do. And came across this. I really want to try this. Was just wondering of other products that would give the same results But may be a inexpensive.
Nichole says
I just started doing this two days ago, but I wanted to ask: for the clay step, should i let it sit for 15 minutes? Some blogs have been saying you need to leave it for 15, but I was following the instructions on this site and was under the impression all i need to do is apply it then rinse..
lisa says
Yes I let mine sit for about 30 min.
Thiaba says
Omg THANK SO MUCH!! I’m kind of tired of my nappy hair and wanted to curl it naturally. You’re wesbsite is amazing, and you shouldn’t ever stop

Thank you for providing us with this VALUABLE knowledge . I came across The Cherry Lola treatment and MHM on Pinterest. Steps 1-5 are to be done daily for 6 consecutive days if you do The Cherry Treatment? If you you’re only doing MHM, the steps are daily for 7 consecutive days? So it’s completely safe to continually put the baking soda mixture and Bentonite Clay on my hair? I hope I’ve conveyed my questions clearly.
Jenille says
What I got from it was….
Day 1: cherry treatment replaces step 1 & you continue to steps 2-5.
Days 2-7 you follow steps 1-5
Yea I had to go back & read it twice too lol.
Nia says
Hello! I just wanted to clarify, between steps 4 and 5 should I rinse the conditioner out of my hair or just add the gel on top? Also I am new to the natural hair community so what is shingling? I don’t know what that means.
Char says
So you do 1 step a day for five consecutive days, correct?
lisa says
No all steps in a day for as many days as you can.
Widlyn says
I just did a big chop. My is not lengthy just really short now. Does it make sense to do this?
lisa says
No matter the length, the moisture will benefit it.
Therese says
The first time I did it I altered the steps a bit. No yogurt step but I am planning on trying it one day. I do the baking soda and conditioner but just a little baking soda and warm water. I also do the bentonite with olive oil ,acv, aloe/water. I have hair that is every texture, even straight so it is often a fuzzy mess, and I know there are awesome curls in there.. This has helped a lot! I shake, shake, shake to get my curls to clump because shingling doesn’t work on my hair either.. at least not how I want it to. Thanks so much!!
Sabrina says
Can I use liquid bentonite clay?
lisa says
I found that it didn’t work as well because it’s not as rich. But it’s an option.

Hei dear author of this blog. thanks a lot for the many useful tips. now I’ve some questions, I live in Easy Africa, in Uganda to be exact and many of the. brands you speak of are not here, even if I bought on amazon it wd have to take days to come from USA, so I’m big on alternative products, for the sake of consistency.
eg. can I use my normal deep conditioner in place of your knot today conditioner? And what about Amino’s I swear it is nowhere here, does it have an alternative? As well as a curling custard, what would it take to make my own with home ingredients, I do have most raw butters and oils available even the clays.
Your assistance is highly appreciated, thanks

If you know anyone in Nairobi, they have Bragg’s Amino Acids in some of the health food stores there

Hi Bridget,
I don’t know about Uganda, but you can get Kinky curly hair products and bentonite clay at Purple Earth Foods in Nairobi. I recommend them because they managed to deliver to me when I was living in a remote area. Then amino acids you can get at HealthyU food stores.
That Nijja chick says
You can use any good sulfate conditioner like Cream of nature or dark and lovely, you can use Rhassoul clay instead of bentonite. I don’t think there’s a substitute for the amino

Does this mean that the hydration method replaces my usual products like shampoo, co-wash,moisturiser,etc?
And if I do start with the hydration method, is it something Im gonna have to do for the rest of my life or is it just a once off thing?
Sorry…Im from South Africa and I recently did my big chop so Im really struggling with dry tangled hair and Im quite new to all this. Im currently using Aunty Jackies prpducts cause its the most affordable for me at the moment. We dont have shea moisture in SA (Ive looked everywhere)

It’s something I do every once in a while. During that time I find I don’t need to use my other products, but when you take a break from the routine you do go back to your regular routine.

I actually do a deep condition with coconut oil. It makes my hair so easy to comb out, and it means a lot. I am tender headed. The first part of my life I was natural (until about the 90s), but I realize people have gone overboard on hair care products and methods. Tried and tested by us were simple things and our people minus all the junk and things we do now had healthy hair. Wish you blessings in your journey…. Remember to trim your hair…..when bored I read blogs ( :

I was wondering if we are supposed to do all 5 steps for 5 consecutive days?
lisa says
You get the best results if you do it that way. But I did it for 3.

Does it matter which type of baking soda I us? I bought arm and hammer but the super huge bag that has pools and outside stuff on it instead of the plate of cookies like in the picture above. Can I still use it? I think it is the same just in a bigger bag.
